Timeshare: A Spectacular Holiday Option

Timeshare is a kind of arrangement in which a property like villa or resort, is shared among few people with common interests for a specific amount of time. This time period can be of few weeks, some months or even few years.

It is important to mention here that in a timeshare, a property is booked in advanced but in different time periods. In order to understand timeshare clearly, lets take an example. Consider a villa which has been purchased for a particular month under timeshare by three different people. Suppose the first person has purchased it for first week, the second one has purchased it for second and third week and the third person has purchased it for the last week. Then during these specific time slots, each person will be the owner of that villa. He will have the complete right to do whatever he wants to do. This is timeshare and the person who owns the property for the specified period is known as timeshare owner.

The various properties that are available for timeshare include many segments of luxury, deluxe, economy, and many more. With its high popularity, many people have started using the timeshare concept in houseboats, camping grounds, cruises, etc.

A timeshare owner can do many types of activities with the related property. Some of which are as follows: -

1. Use the complete time period or less of it, depending on its need. 2. Stay at the timeshared property by himself, according to his choice. 3. Give the property on rent. 4. Present it as a gift to someone. 5. Exchange the timeshared property with other timeshare owner(s), and so on.

There is a term very popular and important in the timeshare industry, known as rescission period. It is a type of contract which describes the time period (number of days), since the timeshare deal, during which the buyer may cancel the purchase. For this, the buyer has to follow the proper procedures. But, the request of cancellation of the deal may or may not be entertained. Depending on the government laws of different countries, rescission period may or may not exist in that particular country. This must be checked always.

The scope of timeshare industry is believed to be very good, according to a study in the U.S.. The market of timeshare is ever expanding. Sale, resale, buying, and renting options are readily available in the actual market and on Internet too. Timeshare has proved highly beneficial for many people but it has also increased the risk of illegal activities. There have been complaints about hidden rules in the timeshare purchase. Sometimes, one may not get the proper infrastructure which is usually expected. Plus, a huge payment is required to be given by the timeshare owner on the purchase. It is sometimes doubtful whether or not they recover this money.

There are uncertainties in every investment but overall, timeshare is considered as a perfect investment. What makes it most appealing is that you can enjoy your holidays forever.
